Hessel Meilech sent me Rabbi Sacks’ outstanding interpretation of Leonard Cohen’s song. I enjoyed Rabbi Sack’s explanation and then listened to the song which I liked. Then, I looked on the right side You-Tube and clicked on Halleluyah which is superb. I listened to it more than once.
I think you will like it too.
Rabbi Sacks at his brilliant best. What a loss to the world at a time when we need him so much. https://youtu.be/2s3kQSZ_Qxk
Thank you for posting this. I have listened to Lenord Cohen’s song “You want it darker” many times and found it to be very profound, but R. Sacks’ d’var Torah brought out a very deep meaning of which I was previously only superficially aware.
Yes. The d’var and the two songs are very moving and thought-provoking.
Thank you for sharing this. I always enjoy listening to Leonard Cohen’s Halleluyah. I wrote Lord Sack before and he responded in kind. He was a member of the British government and contributed much to society and Judaism. He was a true gem. Rabbi Sacks will be greatly missed.
